“Some of the best things that have ever happened to us wouldn’t have happened to us, if it weren’t for some of the worst things that have ever happened to us.”
Mokokoma Mokhonoana

Location: Belvoir Forest

So its been a while…

I don’t really have a reason or excuse except for sometimes life just gets a bit busy. I am going to try to get back into the swing of things, so I am beginning with a series of images that I took about two months ago now. Belvior forest is only about 30 minutes from my own house but as I stated in the last post it is somewhere I always forget about. It is such a beautiful place and I would defiantly recommend it for an afternoon stroll.

So I bought this camouflage jacket about 6 or more years ago from the army surplus shop in Smithfield market in Belfast when camouflage was having its first big popular moment. I remember at the time the owner of the had a print out of a ASOS listing and he was so proud that he was offering the same jackets for a tenner. Now camo is having a second fling at being super popular and I have whipped it out again.

Today a yellow warning was issued over Belfast as the lovely people over at CMPR officially launched Belfast Fashion Week for Spring Summer 15.

They have kept to the same amazing venue as last season settling into Life Church on Bruce Street, which is only a short walk from the main city centre. Today was a day to showcase some of the incredible local talent we will see on the catwalks as well as the shops and boutiques that would be participating. Some of my personal highlights where local up and coming designer Chloe Dougan

Her work is effortlessly stunning and oozes sex appeal, I am sure it is going to be a winner on the runway in March!

What I find so great about Belfast fashion week is how much they nurture and expose new local talent, this season is Chloe Dougan’s first which can also be said for stylist turned designer Sara Neil and local design duo Neil Coogan and John Gerard O’Neil who all show for the first time this March. Fashion week is being held from the 19th to the 22nd of March this year and if you guys are interested you can buy tickets HERE . I have been a volunteer with BFW for the last seven seasons and each season I get even more excited about what is in-store! I think Cathy Martin and the team have so much in-store for us this time around that it is definitely not to be missed with so many different events happening during the week there is definitely something for everyone!

So the toughest part of today was working out what I wanted to wear, knowing that you are going to be surrounded by a room full of local fashions finest is a tough ask for someone who isn’t all that used to dressing up by I gave it my best shot:

Shoes- New Look (SALE BARGAIN nothing similar sorry guys)

Necklace- Topshop (SALE BARGAIN not on-line sorry again guys )

I think overall I was really pleased with my outfit it was for me a perfect way to introduce spring summer colours when it is still freezing outside. My hair looks so dark and flat in this photo but it is more of an auburn in real-life. I am just so happy to have a lovely photo of myself in colour and in a dress to prove to the doubters out there that I can wear something other than all black!

If this was the just the launch I cannot wait to see what this season will have in-store, make sure to keep an eye on the blog in March as I usually do a couple of backstage posts such as THIS ONE from last season.

I hope you enjoyed this guys, thanks to the wonderful Brendan Gallagher for taking such great pictures whilst both of my cameras have decided to break down in the space of a week

Until Next Time…T-J xox

Today’s special moments are the memories of tomorrow- Genie ( Aladdin)

I decided to try some Outfit photos playing around with some sparklers simply because I love all things Halloween and this time of year is my favourite. This past weekend was Halloween and unfortunately due to family illness I had to give the party I was planning on attending a miss. However it hadn’t stopped my mum stock piling sparklers.

Trousers // Evans £29.50

T-shirt //  New Look £7.99

Loafers // Primark £12

Glasses // TkMaxx £3.99

So earlier in the week I showcased the amazing Evans two piece I had picked up, well I decided to also put together an outfit changing only the shoes and jacket to show that you can take the individual pieces and wear them alone if you, like me, aren’t so comfortable with the two piece look. I just decided to pair the trousers with  the same plain top and add on my favourite Evans duster coat which I also have in an amazing cobalt colour as well which should be in an OOTD post very soon.

Kimono- Evans  £35

Trousers- Evans  £29.50

T-shirt- New Look  £7.99

Necklace- Miss Selfridge (cannot find link)   £5.50 SALE

Boots- New Look ( from last year) £7 SALE

I decided today to challenge myself to style up this amazing co-ord set that I picked up from Evans about two weeks ago. As someone who is scared of colour this may seem like  a crazy choice but I have been after a matching set for a while now. I saw this Kimono advertised in a magazine and decided to try and find it in-store, that’s where I saw the trousers and thought this would be the perfect time to try the co-ord trend. I love the shaping of the trousers they are slimmer leg but because I bought a couple of sizes bigger than I am they aren’t as tight as they should be but this is a deliberate choice because I wanted them to be a more relaxed fit. I think with the shape of this set there is a danger to it looking pyjama like so I teamed it with the heeled New Look boots to balance out the casual and dressy vibes.

What do you guys think? would you try the matchy matchy trend. I also shot a more wearable version of this outfit just using the trousers which will be up later in the week

OOTD: Tartan Smock Dress

fashion, Lifestyle, Make-up, photography, Plus size, Style

So I am officially 100% done with second year now, we had our end of year show last weekend in Stormont parliament buildings. Not just being biased because I was backstage but seriously we put on a brilliant show and if the audience reaction was anything to go by we did really good. I have spent the last week relaxing down in my dads house, also anyone from Northern Ireland will be able to vouch for me when I say we have had incredible weather all week, some days even hit 25oc which is a big deal for Belfast.

I have therefore had to adapt my wardrobe to suite this, one piece that is another recent pic up is this lovely Evans grey check smock dress that I got in the sale online for £16.20. I love the fit and shape of this dress its girly but comfortable and in my opinion very flattering on my body shape. IMG_1235 IMG_1239

Paired with the dress I am wearing my plain black newlook slipons that I scored in the sale for a bargain price of £3!!

IMG_1247 IMG_1251One item I am super excited to share with you guys is my new Accessorize Richmond satchel backpack in Lilac (£35)

http://uk.accessorize.com/view/product/uk_catalog/acc_17,acc_1.1/5893317000    ( this is the pink nude version the lilac isnt online)

I picked this up as my end of year treat to myself, as a handbag backpack collector ( collector sounds better than addict right?) I justified it because it isnt just a satchel its also a backpack thanks to the two different straps that come with the bag. I have literally used it every day since I got it as it is the perfect size for everything I need to carry on  a daily basis.

To see just what I carry around watch the video below:

IMG_1081 IMG_1096 IMG_1098 In other news on the 1/6/14 myself and my little sister abbey took part in the Race for Life in memory of our grandmother who passed away from Cancer in 2008 despite the rain it was a great day and I am so happy to have helped raise money for such  a brilliant cause!

Until next time 🙂 xo
